Poster for Boston Como exhibit

15 Boston-based artists will have their work shipped to Italy for an exhibition this summer with 15 Italian artists in the beautiful city of Como, Italy. The exhibition is being organized by Laconia Gallery.

The Boston/Como project was created out of a desire to create a comparison and an exchange of artistic and cultural ideas through Contemporary Art between American artists working with the Laconia Gallery in Boston and Italian artists living in Como. The event setting is the city of Como, Italy taking place from July 18 to August 18, 2013.

The core idea of artistic events taking place in different locations comes from the desire to increase the artistic value of each city by attracting people and creating a movement through the city to a series of art-oriented events and exhibitions. An exhibition-itinerary will guide visitors and residents through the city streets. During the exhibition some other events will take place in public locations and on a municipal stage: classical, jazz, ethnic music concerts, videos, performances, all in order to increase the impact and enrich the cultural exhibition program.

Another component of the project will be created in Boston in 2014 with the patronage of the Italian Consulate in Boston and other sponsors coordinated by the Laconia Gallery.
