Laconia Gallery is run by the Laconia Artists Corporation (LAC), a non-profit 501(c)3 organization. The LAC is dedicated to the promotion of the arts in the South End and the wider Boston area by providing non-commercial exhibit space to local artists and arts nonprofits. The LAC owns and operates the Laconia Gallery, in the Laconia Lofts building in Boston’s South End. The LAC will attract and expose the community to those artists and arts organizations who cannot otherwise afford to work and display their art in the South End. The LAC produces community art events, such as lectures and educational outreach programs. In addition to presenting professionally curated exhibitions of Boston-area artists in the Laconia Gallery, the LAC participates in the annual South End Open Studios with an exhibition of the Laconia Lofts artists or a solo artist in the Laconia Gallery.
